Brivi Voice is a Chrome extension that lets you record your voice and paste accurate transcriptions directly into any text field. It also helps you save rich notes, organize them into notebooks, and keep your work in sync.

What Brivi can do

• Dictate anywhere: Start/stop recording globally and paste text at your cursor.
• Smart voice hint: A subtle in-page hint reminds you you can press Ctrl+Q on inputs.
• Auto stop on silence: Recording ends automatically after a short pause; 10-minute safety limit.
• Notes hub: Save, edit, and format notes with a modern rich text editor.
• Organize with notebooks: Group notes into notebooks; save transcripts to a notebook in one click.
• Right‑click menu: Add selected text from any page to notes or to a specific notebook.
• History: View all past transcripts, copy, play audio (when available), delete, or retry failed ones.
• Import/Export: Export your history as JSON and import it later.
• Realtime sync: Seamless cloud save of notes so they’re available across devices.
• Theme & fonts: Light/Dark/Auto themes and app/notes font preferences.
• Usage at a glance: Popup shows your current cycle usage and quick navigation to dashboard areas.

Keyboard shortcuts

Ctrl+Q : Start/stop recording and paste transcript

Esc : Abort current recording

Alt+C : Copy last transcript and paste in active field

Alt+N : Save a new note with speech‑to‑text and screenshot (optional) . You can disable it in settings.

Ctrl + Shift + H : You can use it to view recent transcript from any web page.

Tip: On macOS, the same keys apply. You can change shortcuts from Chrome’s “Keyboard shortcuts” for extensions.

How to use Brivi Voice

1. Place your cursor in any text field on the web.
2. Press Ctrl+Q to start speaking. A small pill shows the timer and visual levels.
3. Stop with Ctrl+Q again (or wait for silence). Your transcript is pasted where your cursor is.
4. See your work in the Dashboard → History to copy, play audio, delete, or save to notebooks.

Notes & Notebooks

• Rich text editor: Headings, lists, formatting, and theme‑aware colors.
• Save to notebooks: From History, choose a notebook or create one on the fly.
• Context menu: Right‑click any selection → “Add to Notes” or choose a notebook.
• Sync: Notes save to the cloud so your content is available across devices.

Transcription history

• Search and grouped by day for quick scanning.
• Copy text, play audio when available, or delete entries.
• Retry failed: Regenerate transcripts for failed items using the original audio.
• Import/Export your history as JSON.

Privacy & permissions

• Microphone is used only when you choose to record.
• Clipboard is used to help copy/paste when needed.
• Notifications inform you about recording status and results.
• Storage keeps your history, settings, and helpful caches.
• Tabs/active tab enable pasting into the current page’s text field when requested.

Quick tips

• For best accuracy, speak clearly in a quiet space.
• Brivi auto‑stops on silence to save your time.
• Use the right‑click menu to send selections straight into notebooks.
• Switch theme or app font in Settings to match your preference.
